Dr. Alma Bulibekova
Violin

Dr. Alma Bulibekova is a violinist and educator with extensive performance and teaching experience in the United States and abroad. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from the University of North Texas, along with advanced degrees from Pennsylvania State University, Temple University, and the Kazakh National University of Arts.

As a performer, Alma has served as concertmaster with the Pennsylvania State Philharmonic and Chamber Orchestras and has appeared with ensembles including the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Symphony in C, the State Philharmonic and Astana Opera, and the Eurasian Symphony Orchestra. She has performed at prestigious venues such as the Wiener Musikverein, Salle Gaveau in Paris, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

A dedicated pedagogue, Alma has taught undergraduate and graduate students as an instructor and teaching assistant at both UNT and Penn State. She is also active in preparing middle and high school violinists for auditions, competitions, and advanced study, drawing on her background in the Suzuki method and chamber music coaching.

She has been recognized in numerous competitions, including prizes at the David Oistrakh International Violin Competition, the Shabyt-Inspiration Competition, and the Giovani Talenti Competition in Italy. Alma has also participated in masterclasses with renowned violinists and pedagogues such as Philip Setzer, Irina Muresanu, and Sergei Kravchenko.

Dr. Alma currently serves as a violin faculty member at Prime Music Institute.
