Mr. John Cavalier’s goal as a teacher is to encourage a love and curiosity for music. A Texas native, he attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he majored in Roots Jazz and American Music. There he studied drum performance, music theory, music technology and world music.

John’s career has allowed him to perform across the U.S., including spaces such as Carnegie Hall, Davies Symphony Hall, Meyerson Symphony Hall, Winspear Opera House and many others. He has also performed with distinguished artists such as Joshua Redman, Matt Brewer, Edward Simon and Carmen Bradford.

Along with performing, John loves being a music teacher. He hopes to encourage a love of music, deep creative curiosity and self-confidence through overcoming the most difficult aspects of learning music.

John currently serves as a drum faculty member at Prime Music Institute.
