Victoria Wells is a classical pianist and dedicated music educator from Birmingham, Alabama. Her musical journey began at the age of six when she first started taking piano lessons. By the age of twelve, she developed a deeper commitment to piano study and began pursuing more formal training, securing a place at a fine arts high school with conservatory-style instruction.
Since then, Victoria has continued to grow as both a performer and teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Belmont University and her Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at Southern Methodist University, where she studied with Dr. Catharine Lysinger. Throughout her studies, she spent many summers participating in music festivals and intensive programs across the country at institutions such as the Brevard Music Center, Cleveland Institute of Music, Florida State University, and many others.
Victoria’s enthusiasm for music and teaching piano has led her to pursue a PhD in Music Education with an emphasis in piano pedagogy at the University of Oklahoma. As an educator, she believes teaching is more than the transfer of knowledge. Teaching is the careful guidance of a student towards confidence, understanding, and independence. Her teaching seeks to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students develop perseverance, curiosity, creativity, and the skills needed to become thoughtful, independent musicians.
Ms. Wells currently serves as a Senior Piano Instructor at Prime Music Institute.
