Piano

Xiaolin "Joyce" Chen, born in GuangZhou, has been playing the piano for over 20 years. With a deep passion for both performance and teaching, she has dedicated the past four years to music education—two years in her hometown and two years in the United States. As a pianist, Xiaolin continually strives for excellence, ensuring that her knowledge and experience enrich the lives of her students.

Ms. Chen has had the privilege of playing for renowned pedagogue and soloist Hans Boepple, performing at the historic Paramount Theatre in Oakland, and traveling to Korea as a soloist in her teen years. These experiences have shaped her artistic growth and reinforced her belief in music as a powerful means of expression and connection.

A devoted educator, Ms. Chen aspires to be a positive role model, inspiring and motivating her students to reach their full potential. She believes that learning music not only brings joy but also broadens one’s horizons, fostering personal and artistic growth.

Ms. Chen began her higher education at South China Normal University before earning her Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from California State University, East Bay. She is currently pursuing graduate studies in Piano Pedagogy at Texas Woman’s University. When she’s not teaching or playing piano, she enjoys traveling, exercising, and exploring new cuisines.

Xiaolin currently serves as a piano faculty member at Prime Music Institute.
