Recommended Age: 6 - 12.
Length: 45 minutes per week
Learn guitar in a fun, engaging group setting! This beginner-friendly class is designed for students ages 6–12 and introduces the essentials of guitar playing step by step. Through hands-on activities, rhythm games, and well-known songs, students will build a strong foundation while having fun making music together.
What Students Will Learn (and Keep Building On):
● Guitar basics: tuning, strumming, and first chords
● Playing popular riffs and songs (Seven Nation Army, Smoke on the Water, Ode to Joy, and more)
● Reading music and chord charts
● Rhythm and ensemble playing through clapping games and group jams
● The pentatonic scale, power chords, and the 12-Bar Blues
● Creating music: writing chord progressions, riffs, and simple solos
Ongoing Learning This class does not have a set “end point.” Students continue to grow at their own pace, with new skills, songs, and projects added regularly to match their progress. Over time, students will expand their chord vocabulary, improve reading skills, explore different styles (rock, blues, folk, jazz, etc.), and develop the confidence to perform both solo and in a group.
By participating week after week, students will steadily move from absolute beginners to well-rounded guitarists who can play songs they love and create music of their own.
