Jennifer Watson is a classically trained soprano and dedicated educator with a passion for helping students develop both technical excellence and expressive artistry. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance with a specialization in Voice Pedagogy at the University of North Texas, where she has also performed operatic roles including Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus and Gertrude in Hänsel und Gretel. Her performances span opera and concert repertoire, with appearances at Chicago Summer Opera, Painted Sky Opera, Tulsa Opera, and with the Oklahoma City Ballet & Philharmonic.
In addition to her work onstage, Jennifer holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma Baptist University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She has been teaching piano since 2019 and completed a dedicated piano pedagogy course as part of her undergraduate training. Her teaching experience spans all ages and skill levels, with positions at the University of North Texas, Oklahoma Baptist University, Rose State College, and the University of Central Oklahoma, as well as years of private instruction in both voice and piano.
Her students benefit from her diverse experience as both a performer and a pedagogue. She emphasizes healthy vocal technique, musical storytelling, and confidence-building in every lesson. Jennifer has worked with experienced teachers and coaches, including Stephen Morscheck, Monique Phinney, and Louima Lilite, and has trained in summer programs such as Chicago Summer Opera, Music on Site, and the New England Opera Intensive.
Whether preparing for auditions, learning the fundamentals, or exploring artistry at an advanced level, Ms. Watson fosters a welcoming and supportive environment tailored to each student's goals.
Jennifer currently serves as a voice faculty member at Prime Music Institute.
