Originally from Taiwan, Ms. Pei-Ying came to the United States to further her studies at the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music (NEC) in Boston, ranked among the top music schools in the country. She began studying music at the age of four and has devoted her life to becoming a professional musician and dedicated educator.
Ms. Pei-Ying holds a Master of Music degree and Graduate Diploma from NEC, as well as a Master of Music degree from Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan. She has also participated in several internationally recognized music festivals through scholarships and apprenticeship programs, including the Franz-Schubert-Institute (Austria), Vancouver International Song Institute, Vancouver Opera Studio, and Mountain View International Festival of Song and Chamber Music in Canada.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Ms. Pei-Ying has worked with students of all ages—from young beginners (age 4) to adult learners in their 70s and beyond—including advanced students and professional pianists. Her background includes teaching musically gifted students in junior high schools and junior colleges in Taiwan, as well as extensive experience in piano, violin, collaborative piano, and coaching. She also brings over 12 years of specialized coaching experience.
Before moving to Texas, Ms. Pei-Ying spent five years in San Diego, California, where she taught piano, violin, and music theory, coached students, performed at private venues, and served as an accompanist for multiple churches. She also performed with the Temecula Valley Symphony and its chamber ensemble. She teaches violin and viola for Plano ISD and serves as pianist for the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dallas Chinese Choral Society, and FISD.
Ms. Pei-Ying currently serves as a piano faculty member at Prime Music Institute.
